1.How do you celebrate Maori Language Week in your class/school?
We all got together, and had a Maori word a day, for a week. We had to figure out what they all meant and when we got all the five words we had to Email the Teacher what they all had in common.

2.Why is this an important week to New Zealand?
So most people know how to speak a little bit of Maori, as it is some of our Culture.

3.How does New Zealand celebrate Maori Language Week?
We hold a Week Every Year, and it is called Maori Language Week, where we have to speak some every day words into Maori.

4.Can you name any local places of significance that have a Maori name?Why are they significant?
Timaru, or Lake Tekapo, as they are a fun place to go, and a lot of different people go there?

5.What is your favorite Maori phrase or a saying you have heard this week?
Probably, "Whanau" (Family), and "Hoa" (Friends), because they are both equally important to me. I do have other words but I will just put in my two most favorite's.

6.What other languages are a part of your school and are these celebrated?
Maybe Kiaora, because it is simple and a kind thing to say.

7.What are the three official languages of New Zealand?
There is; English, Maori, and New Zealand Sign Language.

8.If New Zealand was to officially celebrate another language what language do you think that should be? Why?
I don't know but I think; English, Maori, and New Zealand sign Language is fine.

9.Do you know of other countries that celebrate a second language in their country? What country and how do they celebrate?
I don't really know, but maybe China as it is a big country?
