Week 3, Sports etc

New Zealand is blessed with a whole host of talented sportsmen and sportswomen.  However we often only hear about a few sports in the media. At our school sports is a big thing, this week we want to look into what sports you like and what makes you a great sportsmen or sportswomen. Questions: 1.What are the most important attributes that a sportsperson should posses? That they should always think of what they are doing now, not ahead, and to include your team mates in your sport. 2. What are the benefits of playing in a sports team? You can become the person you dreamed to be, and you can meet other people. 3. Should playing in a sports team be compulsory for children at primary school? Why or why not? Yes, cause they can choose what sport they want to do, but I think they should still go out and run around because if they do nothing they will probably be un-healthy. 4. How do you cope with failures on the sports field? I just smile, laugh about it positively and let it go. ...

Week 2, Animals around the world

  1. What are some native animals to New Zealand that are in threat of extinction? The kiwi, because the Maori hunted them in the old days, and the English bought them in. 2. How do we protect and look after our native animals in NZ? By keeping them in a safe place, where it is not endangered. 3. Where are you most likely to see New Zealand’s native animals? In the forest, or in a safe zoo, etc. 4. Many people believe that to save animals from extinction they should be bred in zoos? Do you agree/disagree with this statement and give one reason why. I think they could do that, but I don't really know how they treat them, but if it helps them to populate more of their kind, i will be happy. 5. When zoo bred animals are released back into the wild there can be serious problems. What might some of these problems be? It might be that the possums could get the eggs and take them away, or the possum eats the kiwi bird. 6. Zoos are …...a life sentence ...

Week 1, Creativity and talent

I like Drawing, and creating useful things, like maybe a projector.   2. How do you get to learn about your interests in the classroom? Give us an example.   We have a rotation on every Monday called S.T.E.A.M, (or tech cause easier) and we get to pick the subjects that we picked in a survey of what we want to do. Then the subject we picked, we go to and do fun activities. 3. Do you think it's important for children to have time each week to learn about something that they're interested in? Why?
